Can I still use or cash out my old VidAngel credits?
If you have credits on your VidAngel account from our former buy/sellback model (before 2017), you can still use those credits toward your current VidAngel subscription. However, due to the settlement, credits cannot be cashed out for money.
Can I still use old buy/sellback credits?
YES. Old credits from the buy/sellback model still work with VidAngel's current subscription service.
When you subscribe to VidAngel using the account that holds your old credits, those credits automatically apply to your monthly or annual subscription charges. Your payment method won't be charged until your credits are fully used up.

Can I cash out old credits?
NO. Under the terms of the settlement approved by the court, we cannot cash out existing credit balances.
We know that's not the answer you were hoping for, but the good news is you can put those credits to work right now. If you start a VidAngel subscription on the account with your credits, they'll automatically reduce your subscription costs each month. You can cancel anytime.
What happened with the lawsuit?
We successfully settled with the copyright owners involved in the legal case. Due to the court ruling, we can no longer provide cash refunds for those old model credits.

How old credits work today
Old credits function exactly like current credits—they're applied automatically to your subscription charges.
How it works:
- Subscribe to VidAngel using the account with your old credits
- Each billing cycle, VidAngel automatically deducts the subscription cost from your credit balance
- Your payment method is only charged once credits can't fully cover the subscription fee
- You can cancel anytime
