To have the best VidAngel experience you'll want to make sure you're using the most updated VidAngel app. If your app is out of date, you could be missing out on new features or still be experiencing bugs for which we've made a fix.

FIRE TV or FIRESTICK
Here's how to check the VidAngel app version on a Fire TV or Firestick:
- Open the VidAngel app.
- From the top menu, select "Settings".
- Select "System Info".
- The app version will be something like 1.6.0+sg (117)
If you need to update your VidAngel app but haven't received an Update prompt, then you can go back to the Downloader app and type in "vidangel.app" once again. If that doesn't work, then you'll need to uninstall and re-install the VidAngel app to get the latest version.
You'll also want to make sure you have automatic updates turned on. You can do this by going back to your Fire TV main screen and then go to: Settings (gear icon) > Applications > Appstore > Automatic Updates: Select to turn "ON"
GOOGLE or ANDROID TV
Here's how to check the VidAngel app version on an Android or Google TV:
- Open the VidAngel app.
- From the top menu, select "Settings".
- Select "System Info".
- The app version will be something like 1.6.0 (116)
If you need to update your VidAngel app:
- Open the Google Play Store app
If you're having a hard time finding it, try using the Google Assistant buttonand say "Google Play Store".
- Click on your profile icon in the upper right.
- Select “Manage apps & games”.
- Select “Updates”.
- You can scroll down and find the VidAngel app or select the "Update all" option at the top.
You'll also want to make sure you have automatic updates turned on. Still in the Google Play Store app:
- Click on your profile icon again.
- Select “Settings”.
- Select “Auto-update apps”.
- Select the option “Auto-update apps at any time”.
APPLE TV
Here's how to check the VidAngel app version on an Apple TV:
- From the Apple TV home screen, select the App Store app.
- From the top menu, select "Purchased".
- From the side menu, select "All Apps" OR under "Categories" select "Entertainment".
- Select VidAngel.
- If there's an app update available, the button at the top will say "Update".
If your app is up-to-date it will say "Open".
- Scroll down to view the Information column. There you can view the app version.
You'll also want to make sure you have automatic updates turned on. You can do this by going back to your Apple TV main screen and then go to: Settings > Apps > Automatically Update Apps: Select to turn "ON"
ANDROID PHONE or TABLET
Here's how to check the VidAngel app version on an Android mobile:
- Open the VidAngel app.
- On the bottom menu, select "Me".
- Look at the bottom right. The app version will be a string of numbers like 6.5.4 - 501 - v437
Here's how you can see if you need to update your VidAngel app:
- Open the Google Play Store app on your phone or tablet.
- At the top right, tap the profile icon.
- Tap "Manage apps & device".
- Tap "Updates available".
- Find the VidAngel app and click "Update" or tap "Update all" at the top.
iPHONE or iPAD
Here's how to check the VidAngel app version on an iPhone or iPad:
- Open the VidAngel app.
- On the bottom menu, select "Me".
- Look at the bottom right. The app version will be a string of numbers like 6.5.4 - 501 - v437
Here's how you can see if you need to update your VidAngel app:
- Open the App Store.
- Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen.
- Scroll to see pending updates and release notes.
- Find the VidAngel app and click "Update" or tap "Update All".
Automatic updates should be on, but here's how you can check:
- Open Settings
- Tap App Store.
- View if your App Updates is on or off.
WEBSITE on a COMPUTER
Here's how to check the VidAngel app version on a computer on our website:
- Go to the Account Settings Page: https://www.vidangel.com/account, OR
- Login at www.vidangel.com.
- Near the top right, select "Profile" or your name.
- Select "Account".
- Look at the bottom left. The app version will be a string of numbers like Build 2023-09-18_18-16-00
You'll also want to make sure your web browser is up-to-date. Here's how you can do that on Google Chrome and Firefox.
CHROME
- In the Chrome web browser, open the browser menu (3 dots in the upper right corner).
- Select "Settings".
- Select "About Chrome".
- Look for "Version".
Chrome automatically updates, but if you need to update your browser you will see a "Relaunch" button.
FIREFOX
- In the Firefox web browser, open the browser menu (3 lines in the upper right corner).
- Select "Settings".
- Scroll down to the "Firefox Updates" section.
- Look for "Version".
You can ensure your browser is up-to-date by clicking the "Check for updates" button. You'll also want to make sure you have the "Automatically install updates" option selected.
