How do I request filters for a movie or show on VidAngel?
Don't let a missing title slow you down! We love hearing what you want to watch with filters. Requesting titles helps us know what our customers care about most—the more requests a title gets, the higher it climbs on our priority list. Here's how you can request titles using the VidAngel mobile app or on a computer at www.vidangel.com.
NOTE: You don't need a current VidAngel subscription to make a request, but you do need an account. See: An account vs. a subscription
On the web
- Open the VidAngel mobile app OR go to www.vidangel.com on a computer and log in.
- Open the search bar to go to the "Is it on VidAngel?" page.
- Type in the title you want to see on VidAngel.
- If you don't see your title in the results, click "Can't find the title you're looking for? Request here."
- Fill out the "Help Us Find Your Title!" form:
- Full Title—the name of the movie or show
- Type—Movie or TV Show
- Available On—which streaming service it's on (optional)
- Year Released—when it came out
- OR paste the website link to your show instead
- Click "Submit."
On the mobile app
- Open the VidAngel mobile app and log in.
- Tap the Search feature.
- Tap the "Request" tab.
- Fill out the form:
- Option A—Enter the title name, type (movie or TV show), and release year
- Option B—Copy and paste the streaming service URL for the exact title
- Click "Submit."
NOTE: "Is it on VidAngel?" will be added to mobile and TV apps soon!
To request additional seasons, you can submit a request directly through VidAngel:
- On the web: open the search bar on vidangel.com, click "Can't find the title you're looking for? Request here." and include the season number in the title field (example: "Stranger Things season 4")
- On the mobile app: tap Search, then the "Request" tab, and include the season number in the title field
Or you can chat in or send us an email and we'll get it added to Content's list!
Streaming services like Netflix, Amazon, Peacock, and Paramount+ regularly add and remove titles from their catalogs. When a movie or show moves from one streaming service to another, VidAngel needs to update our end too. We call this a platform transfer.
- On the web: open the search bar on vidangel.com, click "Can't find the title you're looking for? Request here." and fill out the form with the title and the streaming service you want to watch on
- On the mobile app: tap Search, then the "Request" tab, and fill out the form with the title and the streaming service you want to watch on
Or chat in or send us an email with the details and we'll ping the Content Team!
We wish we could give you an exact timeline, but honestly, it depends! Here's what affects the timeline:
Request popularity: Popular titles with tons of requests jump to the front of the line, while hidden gems with fewer fans might take the scenic route. Think of it like a theme park—the more people waiting for a ride, the more likely we are to fast-track it!
Copyright research: Every requested title goes through our research process to make sure it's one we're legally able to filter. Copyright ownership can be trickier than you might think!
Release timing & streaming availability: We also consider when titles are released and where they're available to watch.
Popular weekly episodes
For episodes of popular shows released weekly, each episode goes through multiple rounds with actual humans creating the filters to make sure we don't miss anything.
Typical timeline: If technology cooperates, we usually have filters for new episodes within 24–72 hours of the episode's release.
You can request any movie or TV show you'd like! However, there are some factors that determine whether we're able to create filters for your request. You can read more about that here: "The title you requested is one we're unable to provide."
