Why am I getting a Network Error?
If you're getting stuck on a "Network Error" this could mean your internet is down, so make sure that is not the obvious issue (probably not, if you're reading this article).
If not, you could also get this error if:
- You're outside of the United States
- You're using a VPN
- You have network settings that are blocking VidAngel
- Using outdated/unsupported computer software (e.g. Mac OS El Capitan).
If none of these apply, but you're still getting this error on our site, try using a Chrome web browser and clearing your browser cache, and/or clearing the cookies for the VidAngel website.
Clear cache on Chrome Browser
- In the top-right corner of Chrome, click the Chrome menu
(the icon with three horizontal dots or lines).
- Select Delete browsing data...
- In the dialog that appears, make sure the checkbox for Cached images and files is selected.
- Use the menu at the top to select the Time range of data that you want to delete. Select More > All time to delete everything.
- Click Delete data.
- Refresh your browser.
Clear cookies for the VidAngel website
-
Chrome menu
(the icon with three horizontal dots or lines in the top-right corner of your Chrome browser).
- Select Settings.
- Click Privacy and security (in the taskbar on the left).
- Choose Third-party cookies.
- Then See all site data and permissions.
- At the top right, click the line that says Filter sites on page and search for "vidangel".
- To the right of vidangel.com, click the trash icon then Delete.
- Refresh your browser.
Use an incognito browser
If either of those doesn't help, try using an incognito browser. If you need help opening an incognito window, here is a Google Support Article to help.
Still having trouble?
A good way to confirm if the issue is your internet is to use data instead of WIFI. If VidAngel works on data but not WIFI, then something in your internet setup is blocking us.
