What’s the difference between Amazon Paramount+ and Paramount+ standalone, and why does it matter?
VidAngel links to both Paramount+ options, but there are some differences that will impact your experience on VidAngel. If you're unsure which one you have—or which to choose on VidAngel—this article will help.
| NOTE: If you're refreshing your connection because Paramount+, AMC+, or MGM+ won't register, Amazon likely needs you to accept new terms & conditions first. Play a show on Amazon directly, then relink. |
You’ll see two options for linking Paramount+ to VidAngel:
1. Paramount+
Use this if you subscribed to Paramount+ directly through paramountplus.com, or through a third party like Walmart+ or T-Mobile.
Sometimes called: “Paramount+ standalone” or “Direct Paramount+” or "Paramount+ outside of Amazon"
2. Under Amazon: Amazon Paramount+
Use this if you subscribe to Paramount+ as an Add-On Channel through Amazon Prime Video.
Sometimes called: “Paramount+ via Prime”
✅ If you subscribed through Amazon:
You have the Amazon Paramount+ plan.
To confirm:
Make sure the "View" dropdown menu selected is "Available with Prime."
Look for Paramount+ listed as a Prime Video Channel.
If it shows as active here, you should link to Amazon Paramount+ on VidAngel.
✅ If you subscribed on ParamountPlus.com or through Walmart+/T-Mobile:
You have the Paramount+ standalone plan.
To confirm:
Go to paramountplus.com/account.
Log into your account.
Your current plan will be listed under Subscription & Billing.
If it shows as active here, you should link to Paramount+ on VidAngel.

We have no comment on which Paramount+ subscription is better when watching directly on the streaming service, but on VidAngel you will have access to more content via Amazon Paramount+.
This is because we have to research and add filters to each title in our catalog, and we've had an Amazon connection longer. That means on VidAngel, not all Paramount+ content is readily available for both Paramount and Amazon Paramount+—for now, some titles exist in one catalog but not the other.
So, if you come across a title on VidAngel that is only showing available via Amazon Paramount+ and you want it through Paramount+ (standalone), please send us a request!
If you'd like to subscribe to Amazon Channel's Paramount+, here is a direct link: Amazon Channel's Paramount+. You will need a Prime subscription.
If you confirmed that:
1. You have an active Paramount+ subscription
and
2. You are linking that Parmount+ subscription in the correct place on VidAngel
but it still will not display as linked (indicated by no checkmark), then you'll find more helpful information here: Streaming Services Will Not Link to VidAngel. If you have an Amazon Paramount+ subscription, you may also want to check out: Amazon Channel subscriptions will not link
If your Paramount+ displays as linked (indicated by a checkmark) for either Paramount+ (standalone) or Amazon Paramount+ but you still can't play Paramount+ titles, you'll find better information here: I can't watch my Paramount+ title on VidAngel
