How do I set Default Filters on VidAngel?

Set your filters once and let VidAngel do the rest. Default Filters automatically apply to every new title you watch—no setup required every time you press play.

 

About Default Filters

These filters apply to every new title you start—but keep in mind, to watch with any filters you need to watch through VidAngel, not directly on your streaming service.

If you set your Default Filters, watch a title, and then change your Default Filters, the update will not apply to anything you've already started—only to titles you haven't watched yet. You can always update Show-Specific Filters for anything already in progress.

Show-Specific Filters will always override Default Filters.

Note: If Locked Filters are set on your profile, those filters cannot be changed without entering your passcode. You can learn more here: Locked Filters

 

How to set your Default Filters

TV APPS

  1. Select your profile icon in the top bar. 
  2. Select "Default Filters".
  3. Select the things you do NOT want to see or hear. You can filter by category, subcategory, or the individual filter you want to apply.
  4. Select "Save".

MOBILE APP

  1. Tap "Me" on the bottom menu.
  2. Select "Default Filters".

  3. Select the things you do NOT want to see or hear. You can filter by category, subcategory, or the individual filter you want to apply.

    For example, in the image above, in the "Other Elements" category, under the "Credits" sub-category, the individual filter option of "Episode Recap/Outtakes" has been selected. This means I will not see any episode recaps or outtakes, but I will see opening and closing credits.
     
  4. Click the back arrow at the top or choose a different option on the bottom menu to navigate away. Your filter selections will be saved. 

COMPUTER

  1. Log in at www.vidangel.com
  2. Select the Profile icon (or your name, if you've set that up).
  3. Select "Set Default Filters" from the drop-down menu.

  4. Select the things you do NOT want to see or hear. 
    Select your filters by clicking the "All" for the filter category or the toggles next to the subcategory, or individual filter you want to apply. If it is selected, it will turn blue and you will NOT see or hear those things.

    For example, in the image above, under the "Language" category, the entire "Blasphemy" sub-category is selected (6/6). This means all variations of blasphemy will not be heard.
    In the "Profanity" sub-category, the individual filter options of "*arse", "*ss", "b*st*rd" and "b*tch" have been selected. This means Iyou will not hear any instances of those words, but you will hear the words you haven't selected, such as "bl**dy", "b*ll*cks", etc. 
     
  5. Click "Save".
