Managing Profiles

How do I manage my VidAngel profiles?

Your household, your rules—for everyone. Create separate profiles for each family member, complete with their own Default Filters, Locked Filters, and Profile PIN.

 

Create a new profile

  1. Go to www.vidangel.com and Sign In to your existing VidAngel account.
  2. Select "Profile" (or your name) at the top right corner of the page, then click "Manage Profiles".
  3. Click the "Manage Profiles" button on the Profiles page. The edit icon will appear over each profile.
  4. Select the "+ Add Profile" option to add a new profile.

 

Customize profiles

You can customize each profile in the following ways:

  • Name
  • Profile icon 
  • Default Filters
  • Locked Filters
  • Profile PIN 
  • Admin Access (access to account settings, profile management, and billing information).

Locked Filters are set per profile and are independent—locking filters on one profile won't affect any other. Learn more here: Setup Locked Filters

Currently, you cannot restrict content by film rating on any profile.

 

Profile PINs

A Profile PIN requires anyone switching to that profile to enter a 4-digit PIN first—so kids can't switch to a parent's profile to change settings or access content that's not meant for them. Profile PINs are independent of Locked Filters and can be set on any profile.

To set a PIN on a profile:

MOBILE APP
  1. Open the VidAngel app and tap "Manage Profiles".
    • Already inside a profile? Tap "Me" → "Switch Profiles" → "Manage Profiles".
  2. Tap the edit icon on the profile you want to protect.
  3. Under "Profile PIN", toggle on "Require PIN to access this profile".
  4. Enter and confirm your 4-digit PIN.
  5. Tap "Save".

COMPUTER
  1. Log in at www.vidangel.com and click "Manage Profiles".
    • Already inside a profile? Select your profile icon → "Manage Profiles" → "Manage Profiles" again on the Profiles page.
  2. Click the edit icon on the profile you want to protect.
  3. Under "Profile PIN", toggle on "Require PIN to access this profile".
  4. Enter and confirm your 4-digit PIN.
  5. Click "Save".

FORGOT YOUR PIN?

Your Profile PIN can be reset using your VidAngel account password. If you've also forgotten your account password, reset it from the login screen by selecting "Forgot Password?" And if you're still stuck, we're happy to help—just let us know!

Switch profiles

Here's how to switch profile on the website, mobile devices, and TV apps:

WEBSITE

To switch to a different profile:

  1. Select "Profile" (or your name) at the top right corner of the page.
  2. Click "Manage Profiles".
  3. Choose the profile you want to use.

PHONE OR TABLET

To switch to a different profile

  1. Select "Me" from the bottom menu
  2. Select "Switch Profiles".

TV APPS

To switch to a different profile

  1. Select your profile icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select "Switch Profiles".

NOTE: If a profile has a Profile PIN enabled, you'll be prompted to enter it before switching to that profile on any device.

 

Delete a profile

The Primary Profile cannot be deleted. To delete other profiles: 

WEBSITE
  1. Go to www.vidangel.com and sign in to your existing VidAngel account.
  2. Select "Profile" (or your name) at the top right corner of the page, then click "Manage Profiles".
  3. Click the "Manage Profiles" button on the Profiles page. The edit icon will appear over each profile.
  4. Select the profile you wish to delete.
  5. Click the "Delete" button.

PHONE OR TABLET
  1. Tap "Me" from the bottom menu. 
  2. Select "Switch Profiles".
  3. Click "Manage Profiles".
  4. Tap the edit icon on the profile you want to delete, then tap "Delete Profile".
