Why isn't VidAngel working on my Roku?
If you're having trouble with VidAngel on your Roku, here are some things that can help.
The device is too old
Your Roku needs to be at least software version 9.2.0 to install the VidAngel app.
You can check this by going to Settings > System > About > Look for the software version.
Try the Roku website (vs. directly on the Roku)
If you're unable to find the VidAngel app using the Search feature on your Roku, you can download the VidAngel app from the Roku website using a web browser, here: https://channelstore.roku.com/search/vidangel
If you need to navigate there manually, here's how:
- Go to www.roku.com
- If needed login.
- Select "What to Watch".
- Select "Channel Store".
- Search "VidAngel".
- Click the VidAngel icon
-
Select "+Add channel".
VPN or outside the United States
We cannot support our service with a VPN or outside the United States, so you will not be able to find or install the app on your Roku if you're using a VPN or are in another country.
If you cannot log in to your VidAngel Roku app, but you can log in to the VidAngel website or other apps, please be aware that the Roku app is case-sensitive.
If you've checked and that's not the issue, did you use a Social Authentication login option, such as Google or Apple? These options are not available on the TV apps, so you will need to either change your password through the VidAngel website or please contact Support so we can help you!
Roku has some unique requirements for ad-based streaming services. This means that Amazon Free with ads (formerly known as Freevee), Peacock Premium, and Prime with Ads content will not be available on the VidAngel Roku app. Please see this article for more details: Roku Error: You need to upgrade to ad-free
If another show doesn't start on your Roku, check out one of the articles in our section about having trouble getting your shows to start: TROUBLE PLAYING SHOWS
For Roku, you will not connect in the app itself but will sync your connection from our mobile app or the website: Link streaming services with the Roku app
If you're having trouble connecting to a streaming service on VidAngel, go here for help: Trouble Linking to Streaming Services
If you're having trouble with playback, check out Show keeps buffering, pausing, or freezing
