Why am I getting the error, "Account restrictions at [streaming service] are preventing this title from being streamed (e.g. parental PIN, maturity controls, etc)"?
If it seems like all the titles giving you trouble are mature-rated shows, and you're receiving this error, this means you have some viewing restrictions set on your streaming service that are blocking VidAngel. VidAngel links to the active profile at the time of connection, applying any viewing restrictions from that profile.
Adjust profile maturity rating or viewing restrictions
To access certain content on VidAngel, you will need to adjust the Maturity Rating or Viewing Restrictions setting on the streaming service:

Here is how to adjust your Netflix Profile Maturity Rating:
PRO-TIP: If you'd prefer not to change your existing profile, you can create a separate 'VidAngel' profile on Netflix with no restrictions, then link it to VidAngel. You can then lock this profile behind a Netlix PIN (see below).
- Sign in at netflix.com
- Click "Account".
- Scroll down to "Adjust parental controls."
- Input your Netflix password.
- Update your profile Maturity Rating to at least the rating of the show you're trying to watch on VidAngel.
- Click "Save".
The current profile should allow all ratings if you want to watch those through VidAngel. You'll want to make sure you haven't chosen to hide any titles on Netflix that you intend to access on VidAngel. You may need to unlink Netflix from VidAngel and then relink so the new settings can sync.
Create a "VidAngel" Netflix profile
If you don't like the idea of removing your viewing restriction on Netflix, another option is to create a "VidAngel" profile on your Netflix account that has access to all the content you wish to view with VidAngel. Then you can use a PIN on Netflix to protect your profile from unwanted access.
- Sign in at netflix.com
- Click "Manage Profiles"
- Click "Add Profile"
- Make sure you do NOT choose the "Kids Profile" toggle.
- Click into that profile
- Go to https://www.vidangel.com/services; you can manually navigate by going to:
- Go to www.vidangel.com
- Select Profile (or your name)
- Select "Link Services"
- Unlink Netflix by clicking the toggle so it's gray.
- Relink Netflix by clicking the toggle so it's blue.

- Select your profile icon
- Select "Manage Profiles".
- Select the profile you wish to lock.
- Select "Profile Lock".
- Confirm account ownership and create your PIN

Here is how to adjust your Amazon Profile Viewing Restrictions:
- Sign in at www.amazon.com
- Select "Prime Video"
- Select your profile icon
- From the dropdown menu, select "Account & Settings"
- Select the "Permissions" tab
- Remove the PIN and/or scroll down to adjust the Viewing Restrictions.
The main profile should allow all ratings if you want to watch those through VidAngel. You may need to unlink Amazon from VidAngel and then relink so the new settings can sync.
There is another workaround if you would like to keep the main profile locked, but leave another profile unlocked. Here's how:
- Unlink Amazon from VidAngel
- Log into Amazon and switch to an Amazon video profile that isn’t locked
- Re-link Amazon to VidAngel
This will link that particular Amazon profile with VidAngel
