If you are getting the message, "The provider has blocked this video. Please ensure you have access to watch it on their site." this means something is blocking your access to the movie or episode.
This will happen in these situations:
- You simply need to try once or twice more
- You need to refresh your connection to the streaming service.
- You need to rent or buy the show on your Amazon account first.
- We need to update our system.
- You do not have access through the streaming service.
Try again
It may just be as simple as trying once more.
- If present, select the "Try again" or "Retry" button.
- If needed, select the "Cancel Verification" option.
- Try to play the movie or episode once more.
If you continue to get an error, you'll want to reset your streaming service connection.
Refresh your streaming service connection
If your connection has just gone stale, refreshing your connection can solve many issues with VidAngel. This must be done on either our website or mobile app. After you refresh the connection you can return to the TV app to try again.
This article will show you the best way to refresh the link to your streaming service on VidAngel: Refresh the Connection
NOTE: If you're getting this error often, please check out Services keep disconnecting |
Need to rent/buy on Amazon
Is the show available from Amazon Video (vs. Amazon Prime or other services)? If so, you will need to rent or purchase it from your Amazon account first, then return to VidAngel on your TV to watch. It's easiest to do this guided through the VidAngel website or phone app.
If you have rented/purchased and refreshed your connection, you may have gotten an incompatible version. Go here if you need more details: How to watch Amazon Video rentals or purchases
We need to update our system
It's possible this is our bad and the movie or tv show is no longer available from that streaming service and we need to update our system.
Streaming services change their catalog often and we audit our system regularly. However, if we missed a title leaving a platform, it may still show as available in our system, even though it's not. You can check directly on the streaming service's platform to confirm.

Don't have access through the streaming service
Not Subscribed
This could mean that you are not subscribed to the service where this show is offered.
For example, if you are not subscribed to Amazon Prime streaming, then you don't have access to watch Prime exclusive shows, such as Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan.
Service Issue
It could also mean that there is an issue with the streaming service itself. Perhaps they're having an outage or technical issue that is impacting VidAngel's ability to connect.
Parental Controls
You may have parental controls, including View Restrictions or a PIN that is blocking access. The best way to check is to go directly to the streaming service's site and try to start the same title there.
For example, if you chose to hide Stranger Things on your Netflix account with the main profile, then VidAngel will not be able to access it. You'll need to go into your Netflix account settings and adjust your settings.
