Watch on Roku

Get the VidAngel app to watch with filters on your Roku box or Roku TV!

Roku has some unique requirements for ad-based streaming services. This means that Amazon Freevee, Peacock Premium, and Prime with Ads content will not be available on the VidAngel Roku app. However, if you upgrade your Peacock subscription to Premium Plus, or your Amazon Prime subscription to ad-free, or even rent/buy on Amazon video, then you should be able to watch on the Roku app!

Before you start

  1. Confirm your Roku device has a software version of at least 9.2.0
    You can check this by going to Settings > System > About > look for the software version.
  2. Start a VidAngel subscription at www.vidangel.com
  3. Connect streaming services in your VidAngel Account Settings. Account Settings must be accessed on the VidAngel mobile app or website: Connect streaming services on the Roku app
  4. Recommended: Make sure your Roku device is up to date.
    You can check for updates by going to Settings > System > Software update > Check now.

Install the VidAngel Roku app

  1. On your Roku home screen, select "Search" or "Add Channels".
  2. Type "vidangel" and select it.
  3. Select "Add app".
  4. You should get a notification it's been added! 
  5. Log in with your VidAngel account.

Start a membership on Roku

Did you skip the Before you start section (you rascal) and create an account on Roku? If so, this means that signed up to a VidAngel subscription with your Roku account and Roku manages your subscription. You will need to contact Roku for billing concerns. 

 

Watching on Roku

  1. Select a show in the VidAngel app.
  2. If desired, adjust Filters by selecting the "Filters" button.
  3. Select "Watch with [Service]" and wait for the title to verify.
  4. Enjoy your show!

Please be aware that streaming services with advertisements will not work on the Roku app. For the VidAngel app, this includes Peacock Premium, Amazon Prime with ads, and Amazon Freevee content.

MOVE THE VIDANGEL APP

    1. Open your Roku home screen.
    2. Highlight the VidAngel app (but don't click on it).
    3. Press the (*) star button on the remote.
    4. Selec "Move app".

    5. Use the arrow buttons on the remote to navigate the VidAngel app to the top of your apps.
    6. Click the "OK" button on the remote.
